Commissioned by Tenderbooks
PAPER LIGHTS started when Tamsin Clark at Tenderbooks invited me to create a new work for London Design Festival 2025, inspired by the book as an object. I began making small mock-ups from cardboard and paper, exploring shapes I noticed while reading — the way a newspaper tucks under the arm, or the feel of a well-used book.
The result is a series of sculptural lamps that echo the materials and familiar gestures of reading. They sit on a shelf or by the bed — much like a book itself.
During the London Design Festival, the collection was presented in the Tenderbooks window, alongside a selection of recent designs shown throughout the shop. The showcase, titled “Objects and Stories,” was accompanied by a large poster that folded into a mini monograph, created in collaboration with Studio Ardworks.
